Hi, I'm Jon Prettyman — a monitoring, evaluation & learning (MEL) specialist based in Berlin, with 10+ years designing and running learning-oriented MEL systems for organizations working across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the US.
I help organizations figure out whether their work is actually creating the change they intend — and build the systems that make that learning useful, not just reportable. My focus is on MEL that serves the people closest to the work: practical frameworks, honest feedback loops, and tools that fit how teams actually operate.
I hold a Master of Public Policy from Duke University. My experience spans humanitarian response, climate innovation, and global health & environment programming, always at the intersection of rigorous evaluation and real-world usability.
